Why do they call it poison ivy when the only thing that happens to you is you itch and swell up a little. Where’s the poison part?

Why do people run from bees and wasps when they come by? They have to fly by they can’t walk so I say let them go. How would you feel if you were going to walk by someone and every time the person ran away. That’s just mean. Even if they hang around a little they’re just checking you out. Duh.
