I wrote about New Orleans chessmaster Jude Acers a few months ago. Right now he’s competing in the World Senior Chess Championship in Opatija, Croatia . He’s 1-1 after the first two rounds; he lost yesterday to one of the tournament’s top players. I’ve roped Charles Broome into writing updates about Jude’s progress in the tournament over at judeacers.com. When Jude plays a high profile opponent, we’ll be able to share a game viewer, as we have this evening.
Derek Bridges lives in New Orleans, trading in words and pictures. A carpetbagger of long standing, he grew up in the top right corner of IL and later went to college in the middle cornfield part. He has also lived in MS and FL, for educational purposes only, and was diasporized for a time in TX.
