actually is not

 

maybe it’s rude of me

to say this

but after engaging in several years of extensive research

 

you will hang your head

having thought you could say something

for the first time

 

you will carry the heavy knowledge

that fifty years or a hundred and fifty

or five hundred or a thousand

 

or three thousand years ago

some living and breathing mammal

said it all in a way

 

more elegant and true

than the way you will

but life is short

 

and this is the time that you are alive

so don’t let those old dead fuckers

stop you from trying
