I ran out of patience
took over
decided who to cut
from the team
everyone swayed
to my arbitrary whims
the trains ran on time
they took back what they said
made good
on their wrongs
I thought I made them
get along
my loving hand
laid down the law
and I never saw
the bullet coming
my body got tossed
like an afterthought
my good intentions
forgotten
my blueprints
used for packing paper
in the boxes of trophies
they wheeled away
