Hillary Clinton claims to have played an important role in encouraging the Bosnian government in 1996 to open its border to refugees. However, the border re-opened the day before Clinton arrived to meet with government leaders. Hillary has suggested even just flying into Bosnia was dangerous. “They said there might be sniper fire,” she has said.

One of her fellow travelers on that trip remembers it differently. Sindbad says it wasn’t all that:

I never felt that I was in a dangerous position. I never felt being in a sense of peril, or “Oh, God, I hope I’m going to be OK when I get out of this helicopter or when I get out of his tank.”

I think the only “red-phone” moment was: “Do we eat here or at the next place.”

I assume Sinbad must be holding the camera, so I’ll credit him for the shot … (photo credit: Sinbad).

Update: Jonathan Chait has it right:

When your main campaign theme is foreign policy experience, and that experience is persuasively refuted by a comedian, it’s time to find a new theme.

It’s the best material I’ve heard from Sinbad in … forever.
