From the WaPo:

Clinton goes into today’s crucial primaries in Texas and Ohio with her candidacy on the line, and (Marion) Wagner (a regional director for NOW) believes it is ignorance and bigotry that undermined it. As Wagner and other NOW executives toured Ohio last week, they repeated a resounding message: Clinton has been mistreated by an opponent who subtly demeans her, by a mainstream media that ridicules her, by voters too threatened to vote for a confident woman, by young women who no longer feel the urgency of the women’s movement, by African American women for whom race is more important than gender.

Let’s go point by point. Clinton has been mistreated by:

an opponent who subtly demeans her

At least he’s subtle. She demeans Obama (and his supporters) daily, and with increasing ferocity.

by a mainstream media that ridicules her

Fine, I concede Chris Matthews, et al., aren’t fair, etc. But by and large, “the media” is pretty bad across the board. See Tim Russert’s Farrakhan question of Obama at the last debate. See how John McCain has mostly gotten a free pass for embracing a hateful white preacher. See how “the media” is supporting Hillary’s talking points the past couple weeks and consider how “the media” would push hard for Obama to drop out if Hillary were the one with the solid delegate lead.

by voters too threatened to vote for a confident woman

Has Obama lost voters who are too threatened to vote for a confident black man?

by young women who no longer feel the urgency of the women’s movement

How dare they? The ungrateful …

by African American women for whom race is more important than gender
